Medicare Supplement Insurance or Medigap is a private health insurance that helps pay some of the health care costs like deductibles, coinsurance and copays that Original Medicare doesn't cover.  This is a supplement to your Original Medicare plan.

Medicare Part C is Medicare Advantage Plans.  These are health coverage choices run by private insurance companies that have been approved by Medicare and are often structured with copayments like an HMO or PPO.  If you elect a Medicare Advantage Plan you will receive all of your Medicare Benefits directly from that company.  They may offer extra coverage and prescription drug coverage.

Medicare Part D is Prescription Drug Coverage.  It helps cover the cost of prescription drugs and is sold directly by private health insurance companies.
